Solid State

As we all know that the first state of matter is solid. The most important feature of solid is that it possess a definite shape and also possess least diffusion property.

Solid can be mainly classify into two. They are crystalline soluds and Amorphous solids.

In the case of crystalline solids, these type of above mentioned solids possess all the property of solids ie. Crystalline solid is a true solid.

Crystalline solids possess a definite heat of fusion and a sharp melting point.

The most important property is that all crystalline solids possess the property called Anisotropy.

Anisotropy is that certain physical property like refractive index, electrical resistance show different values at different angles of a solid crystal.

An amorphous solid does not possess all the properties of a true solid. So it is otherwise called super cooled liquid. For eg. Glass.
